300+ aspiring teachers attend TET workshop
More than 300 aspiring teachers on Sunday attended the
Teachers' Eligibility Test (TET) workshop organized by the state primary
teachers' at Zilla Parishad society hall.
The much awaited TET exam is set to be conducted on December
15 for the first time in the state this year. TET is not mandatory for existing
teachers and applicable for those aspiring to become teachers from now on.
Namdev Repe, district head, state primary teachers'
association, said, "The state government had said that the test would help
filter the best candidates. But many of the aspirants are still having doubts
about the whole procedure. Many of them were unaware that from now on, public
and private schools will be allowed to recruit only those teachers who have
cleared the test. Some candidates have complained of problems during online
registrations, higher fees and form submission centres."
